Forest school.

“Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.”
― John Lubbock

For the last few years I have been lucky enough to photograph the children of Bloo House, a school based in Esher, surrey.

Forest school is part of the Bloo House curriculum and every year I am blown away by  these children, watching them interacting with each other out in the forest is so inspiring. The children are such good company and I truly value every moment. They are so inquisitive, knowledgeable and caring and I always come away with such a feeling of optimism… and a face that aches from smiling.

Last week I went on three Forest School sessions with the different age groups. They did leaf rubbing, bracelet making (out of bark and wooden beads) and den building. As well as taking photographs of the children enjoying Forest school I also take their yearly portraits,  creating more natural and beautiful school photographs.
